We’re releasing a new coffee this month! Since it’s our first production roast of this coffee, we admit: it may not be perfect. That’s why we’re selling bags from the first roast at a discount, and we’re keeping the details of the coffee a secret. Everyone loves surprises!
This month’s Mystery Coffee is a washed coffee and comes from a group of producers we’ve bought coffee from in the past, and we’re targeting a fast, light-medium City roast. We’d describe it as a sweet coffee with a nice acidity and a very full aftertaste. The cup features flavors of lemon zest and milk chocolate, with a zingy acidity that quickly retreats and a satisfyingly full body. We loved our pourover, and while haven’t tested this coffee across brewing methods yet, we suspect it should work well in immersion brewing from past experience. We’re not sure if this one will work well for espresso – in our past experience buying this coffee, shots were a little thin and sharp, and it wasn’t something we would recommend for espresso, but it is possible this lot will end up brewing differently.
