The second coffee we ever released back in 2023 came from a group of producers in Murang’a County, Kenya, organized near Gondo Factory. Though it was our second release, we called it Birthday Cake to commemorate our zero-th birthday. Fast forward to this summer: we were looking at the offerings of one of our import partners, and we saw coffee from Gondo Factory again. When we sampled it, we were shocked: oftentimes coffees can vary a lot from year to year, but this one was a near duplicate of the coffee we tried way back when. We’re calling it Yellow Cake this time around, and the name is apt: it has a nice fudgy body, top notes of lemon zest, and a bit of white sugar in the midtones that give it a very dessert-forward profile. It definitely isn’t the typical washed Kenyan coffee, and it’s one where very happy to offer once again!

Yellow Cake costs $23, but we have sold every bag of our current roast. We’ll announce the next roast of this coffee via our email list, so sign up if you‘d like to receive updates on when we’ll be roasting this coffee again!
