It's kind of funny that the first Ethiopian coffee we're offering for sale from Nonesuch is a decaf. We've tried countless samples, but between issues of perfectionism (since we've been so selective, finding one that measures up at this point has been challenging) and storage (we can’t store large quantities, which means we’ve had to turn away some suppliers), sourcing it has been a challenge. We won’t make any crazy claims about this coffee – after all, decaf always tastes like decaf – but it has a nice date sugar sweetness and a gentle acidity (think fruit pie filling) that makes for a pleasant evening cup.
This coffee was decaffeinated using Swiss Water Process, a chemical-free, water-based decaffeination method that removes 99.9% of a coffee‘s caffeine.
Sweet Dreams Decaf costs $24, but unfortunately, we have completely sold out of this coffee and won’t be roasting it again.
